Random Card of the Day #146:
Dance of Many - UU
Enchantment
When Dance of Many enters the battlefield, put a token that's a copy of target nontoken creature onto the battlefield.
When Dance of Many leaves the battlefield, exile the token.
When the token leaves the battlefield, sacrifice Dance of Many.
At the beginning of your upkeep, sacrifice Dance of Many unless you pay {U}{U}.
Initial thoughts:
Kind of an insane card if you ask me. I'm going to compare it to Phantasmal Image, since they have pretty equal mana costs.
So first thing is, it kills Legendary creatures. That's pretty good for {U}{U}, and compared to Phantasmal Image, it instead dies if you kill the enchantment instead of targeting the creature. At least, that's the price you pay for a low mana cost drawback.
However, the additional cost of {U}{U} each upkeep makes you not want to play this card. Which is fine, considering I would probably only use this on creatures that are worth it, or to use it as a kill spell for Legendary creatures.
You can't get much cheaper than copying a creature for 2 mana. 2 mana a turn though, might change things. Whatever you're copying better be worth it, because you're definitely not copying a Chandra's Phoenix with this. Maybe Gravetiller Wurm, but outside of Legendary Creatures, it's usefulness begins to diminish.
It still serves it's primary purpose, and at least it still works with Sun Titan. 4/5
